Local Highschool Student Must Delay Graduation With Hope For Stem Cell Therapy

Ilderton Conversion of Charlotte recently had the pleasure of meeting the Trumpower family while assisting them with their purchase of a new Braunability Toyota Sienna.

Grace Trumpower, 17, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was 2 years old, and described by her father was able to lead a happy and successful life. She was ranked number one in her class, participated in marching band, worked out with a trainier, and thrived as a child growing into a beautiful young lady. All that changed a few years ago when she was diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.

Grace and her family are currently raising funds so she may receive the life changing stem cell therapy the doctors recommend.

Community Alternatives Program (CAP)

Did you know that North Carolina participates in the Community Alternatives Program (CAP) programs?  These programs are Medicaid home- and community-based services waivers granted by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA).

The CAP programs allow North Carolina to use Medicaid funds to provide home- and community-based services to Medicaid recipients who require institutional care (placement in a nursing facility), but for whom care can be provided cost-effectively and safely in the community with CAP services. CAP participants must meet all Medicaid eligibility requirements and to participate in the CAP program, individuals must apply for Medicaid first.

North Carolina has CAP waivers to provide services to a limited number of persons in specific groups within the state:
  • CAP for children (CAP/C)
  • CAP for disabled adults (CAP/DA)
  • CAP for the Mentally Retarded/Developmentally Disabled (CAP/MR-DD)

Ilderton Conversion Company customers, the Filmore Family used their CAP funds to help purchase a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country Touring with BraunAbility Entervan XT.

We are happy to assist our CAP customers with getting vehicles they currently own converted.  CAP participants can also purchase newly converted vehicles from our stock!  Our High Point and Charlotte Mobility Sales Consultants are very knowledgeable about the CAP process and are happy to speak to you about getting wheelchair accessible vehicle with your CAP funds.  Call us today!

Take Care To Give Care

“Take Care to Give Care

November is National Family Caregivers Month - Ilderton Conversion company would first like to thank all of those who have and continue to be the support for those in need.

The first rule of taking care of others: take care of yourself first. Caregiving can be a rewarding experience, but it is also physically and emotionally demanding. The stress of dealing with caregiving responsibilities leads to a higher risk of health issues among the Nation’s 90 million family caregivers. So as a family caregiver, remember to pay attention to your own physical and mental wellness, and get proper rest and nutrition. Only by taking care of yourself can you be strong enough to take care of your loved one. You really do need to “take care to give care!”

November - National Family Caregivers Month!

Hi Beth,

I wanted to say thank you for being a sponsor of our Caregivers Conference that took place yesterday. It was hugely successful and we were so happy to have Jim there as your representative. I hope he had a great experience. There were over 150 in attendance to learn about ALS but also to meet with our vendors and how they can help them in their journey through this terrible disease. We appreciate your dedication to ALS patients and were honored to have Ilderton Conversion with us yesterday.
